Fulfillment of Messianic Prophecy by Jesus #69
Psa 22:1 To the chief Musician upon Aijeleth Shahar, A Psalm of David. My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?
There is much debate about this verse. Most everyone agrees that psalms 22 is a Messianic psalm. The debate is whether Jesus was merely quoting scripture while hanging on the cross or did God see the cross and everything that transpired during the crucifixion? Did He prophetically have the prophet write even the words of Jesus while He was suffering this brutal death?

My opinion is God foresaw every detail of the agony of Jesus and even the words He spoke.
Psa 139:2 Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.
Psa 139:3 Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways.
Psa 139:4 For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether.
Fulfillment in Jesus Christ
Mar 15:33 And when the sixth hour was come, there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour.
Mar 15:34 And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
