Until it explodes in your face...Ouch!

John in 2019 had his best year, his company grew and he performed well.

He celebrated, although briefly....the stress and pressure that had mounted up over time didn't go away by itself.

He was gradually lacking energy, unable to focus and with a work-life balance way out of line.

After a successful year with projects completed and targets reached, he was concerned that this year isn't going to match up.

I've seen first hand that leadership can take a toll on the best of us. John seemed to manage his business effectively well but at the end of the day, if you don’t learn to take care of yourself, you could be accelerating your stress levels.

2020 is looking like a recovery and renew year for many successful leaders of 2019.

Leadership is a challenge between profitability and managing high performing teams.

There are high demands in any day with long hours and work-life in-balance to go with it if we let it.

The stress can build up gradually in the body, mind and spirit. Stress looks and feels different to different people. For John it was sleepless nights, deep feelings of anxiety and exhausting days with his favourite coffee no longer giving him the fix he needed.

Until one fine day, the stress finally takes its toll and you are left in burn-out, unable to function, unable to think or feel as a leader should.

The high levels of stress if not managed effectively has a negative influence on your leadership and reduces productivity to an alarming extent.

The thing is stress creeped up slowly and gradually until our best is no longer even good enough.
It's the little things which cause stress that can add up and cause unnecessary (and often unnoticed) anxiety and worry.

In order to remain effective, efficient and impactful as a leader we must be able to to prioritise mental well-being and physical health over any other task.

We have to be personally ready, willing and able to make the conscious effort, practice, to improve your life, skills, knowledge and experiences in dealing with stress and to prevent it from disrupting your life and your business.
