  •                                         -                         Ingredients for Mixed Dal Chilla-

2 cups of mixed dal {1 tablespoon each of mung dal(petit yellow lentils split), masoor (whole red lentil) , green peas, chickpeas, red beans, tur dal (split pigeon peas) }

1 teaspoon cumin seeds

1 teaspoon coriander seeds

4 green chilies

1/2 inch ginger

5 curry leaves

Salt to taste

Oil to fry

Ingredients for Chatni-

1 cup grated coconut

3 green chilies

Marble size tamarind

Salt to taste

For seasoning (1 teaspoon ghee, pinch of mustered seeds, pinch of asafoetida, pinch of
cumin seeds.1 dry red chili, few curry leaves)

Preparation for Mixed Dal Chilla-

Soak mixed dal in water for 6 hrs.

Then drain the water and add all ingredients into it.
In a mixer, grind all ingredients till you get a smooth paste. Batter should be thick. Keep the batter for half an hour.

Heat the pan and add 2 tablespoons of oil.

With a big spoon pour the batter in the pan and spread it evenly to get a round shape.

After about 3 minutes flip sides and shallow fry till the batter becomes brown in colour.

Preparation for Chatni-

Grind all the ingredients in mixer. For seasoning (Heat ghee in a pan and add all the ingredients of seasoning).

Add seasoning to the mixture.

Enjoy the mixed dal chilla!
