Beat My Personal Best Of Half Marathon In “The 3rd HAT KOBE DREAM RUN” 第3回HAT神戸ドリームランでハーフ自己ベスト更新

Today is the day of The 3rd HAT Kobe Dream Run. The site is Harbor Walk in HAT Kobe, where I usually do running workout and the 1st HAT KOBE MARATHON was held last month. HAT Kobe Dream Run has the categories of “5km relay”, “half marathon relay”, “half marathon solo” and “30km solo”. I entered “half marathon solo”.

After 10:30, I arrived at the site and received my number bib, a program booklet of this race, and the participation prize from the receptionist. My number is 266. The participation prize is a pair of arm cover.


I spent time warming up until participating the opening ceremony for solo categories at 11:45. In the opening ceremony, we listened to the precautions about the race and the course. Besides, we told that the starting time of “half marathon solo” had changed from 12:03 to 12:00, which was same with one of “30km solo”.

After that, we moved to the stating point. Today the wind was extremely cold. Shivering with cold, we waited for the starting time.

At 12:00, the race started. In this half marathon, we must make the loop running 7 times in Harbor Walk. The course is perfectly flat.

This is the first race I run with WAVE EMPEROR ( the model of running shoes ). Now, show your capability, EMPEROR !!

As you can see from the graph below, in the race I could keep the stable pace of about 4’00”/km. That was thanks to a runner. As a result of keeping up with him without thinking, I managed to run at the stable and good pace during the race. In the final stage of the race, I got separated from him in the crowd of runners 1 or 2 laps behind. As I wanted to say a word of thanks to him, I try to find him after finishing the race, but I couldn’t. I’d like to take this opportunity to give thanks to him, although I guess he don’t read this post.

In the end of the race, I increased the pace at full power to break 1:25’. As the result, I finished the race in 1:24’43”. I improved my personal best by 3 minutes and 26 seconds. And the rank was the 5th.

As soon as higher-ranking runners finished and the top ranking was decided on, the awards ceremony was held.

For comparison, the first-prize runner’s time was 1:12’42”, and the 3rd-prize runner’s was 1:19’08”. Winner’s podium is very far from me……
